Goals for 2013 “Let’s Do This!”

Tags

,

I know that some people think that New Year’s resolutions are silly. For me setting these goals for myself gives me something to work towards and it gives me a sense of accomplishment at the end of the year when I can look back and say I kicked ass this year look at everything that I did!
Check out JPP’s goals for 2013!
  • Continue making new connections and strengthen the connections that I have
  • Upgrade my gear I would like to add a lens and upgrade my camera body
  • Learn new things (editing styles; organizational skills, shooting techniques)
  • Go to a workshop (either online or in person) Do you have a workshop that you recommend? Please leave it in the comments.
  • Continue to take pictures every day! Session or no sessions the best way to improve skills is to practice them!
  • Build a bigger better Brand. Every year my business has grown and my goal this year is to continue that growth.
  • Get published
  • Double the number of facebook fans that I have (276)
  • Host a stylized shoot. This is something that I have wanted to do for the last two years and this year I am going to make it happen!
  • Create office hours. So that clients know when they can reach out to me and so that I have designated times (that are not 2 am to work on editing)
  • Print images for my HOME. This is terrible I know I have thousands (millions) of images and I am terrible about printing them!
  • Share the knowledge. In my journey I have been so blessed by helpful photographers that I want to try and pass that on to someone who is just starting out (if you know someone send them my way)
  • Give back. There are so many wonderful opportunities for photographers to be able to give back this year I will join one of those!

**Long Term Goals**

My ultimate long term goal is still to be able to work full time as a photographer…I know that it won’t happen overnight but all of my goals lead up to this and the plan is for this to happen by the time Rickey is in kindergarten.

There they are! I can’t wait to get 2013 started! Stick around and see  how I do this year!

Goals for 2012 An Update

Last year I posted goals for 2012 now lets see how I did! I would say all in all that I had a pretty great year! Stay tuned for what changes and new goals I will be making for 2013!

PhotobucketMake new connections  I still belong to the Photo Betties and Pixel peeps. I also am a part of the Snap Shop Mamarazzi which is like a sorority of momtographers who have taken a workshop with Caitlin Domanico which I highly recommend!

PhotobucketUpgrade my gear  I purchased a new lens an 85mm which at first I loathed but now I rarely take it off of my camera!

PhotobucketLearn new things (editing styles; organizational skills) Thanks to the glory of pinterest I have learned a LOT about organization and I am slowly incorporating into my daily life!

PhotobucketGo to a workshop I attended a workshop that was taught by Caitlin Domanico it was a great back to basics workshop that looking back I wish that I had been able to take back when I first started!

PhotobucketContinue taking pictures every day! Thanks to instagram I definitely do this! Again I can say that I do need to be taking my camera out more and using it but Iphone or camera I am still taking pictures!

PhotobucketBuild A Bigger Brand What this really should say is build a Kardashian like empire (ok so that’s a long term goal) JPP as a brand is getting bigger and better every year. I have been trying to find my niche in the photography world and that niche is toddler/family photography. I have continued to build on this and will continue to do so next year… but I have so many ideas whirling around in my head that I want to be more than just a photographer (when did I become such an entrepeneur?)

PhotobucketGet More Organized I am still working on this but this year is definitely better than the years past!

I also can check some goals off of my bucket list that were not on here…

Getting Published – this picture is published in an advertisement for Pint Size Planners On page 103 in the BUMP digital Philadelphia edition

Getting on The Air – In November I was interviewed by Kimberle Levin on the Montgomery County Community College’s radio station about being a The Female Entrepreneur – super exciting! As soon as the link is available to hear the interview I will share it!

Get in Front of the Camera – I have been pretty good about this and Rickey and I get our pictures taken at least once a year… and I try to make sure that I get a picture of just me…here I am with my camera (and one with Rickey)

My long term goal of being a full time photographer is what this will all lead up to! Not today, maybe not tomorrow but hopefully by the time Rickey is in kindergarten!

The 2012 Jennifer Parke Photography Portrait package fee is $225 and that includes:

Up to 2 hours of photography (during this time I work with you and your family to capture real life images of you! Please know that I am a mom and that I can handle whatever meltdown or tantrum that could come our way. My goal with every session is to bring out the best in every family and document it!)

The time and talent of the photographer (that’s me!) to edit the photographs

An in home preview and print ordering session with the photographer if requested

A CD containing your edited images (this means that you can order prints from any company you like whenever you want to!)

A written release to print photographs (this is a letter from me so that no one gives you a hard time when you try to print your photographs!)

The session fee is required to reserve your date. This can be paid by cash, check or I can send you an invoice through paypal. You also have the option of creating a payment plan – contact me at jenniferparkephotography@gmail.com for details! (there is no fee for this just creating the payment schedule!)

If you don’t know the exact date that you want your session don’t worry! We will pencil in a date and we can change it at any time.

Now TODAY 12/31/12 is the last day to book your session at the 2012 rates….so email me at jenniferparkephotography@gmail.com today! Don’t miss this opportunity because the rates are going up at midnight tonight!

It’s that time of year again – a time to look back and reflect on how far we have all come. This year has been a wild ride but thanks to all of the wonderful families that I have had the pleasure of working with it has been an awesome year! I tried to make this post a quick synopsis of the year but it didn’t really work out that way because their are so many wonderful families to share. (ok there might be a post or 11 of my own family but hey that’s why I started this all isn’t it!) So sit back and enjoy

I would just like to take a moment to thank all of my wonderful babysitters for all of their help!Photobucket
